Instead I thought I’d mention what will probably be my only festival jaunt of the year, The Cambridge Rock Festival!
A small but perfectly formed festival taking place in a field in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire, UK from August 16th.
As a ‘classic’ rock fan, this arguably offers a better line-up than any 2007 festival bill and what’s more one of the sites I review for, Get Ready To Rock are sponsoring the second stage, specifically to promote a number of Rising Stars including Sacred Heart, a band I featured a few weeks ago in the “Introducing:” section.
Here’s the line-up as it stands presently with the bands I’m especially hoping to see and maybe even review in bold….
August 16th : Limehouse Lizzy, The Heal, Stingray, Redsoxx August 17th : Dr. Feelgood, Eddie And The Hotrods, Helium Soul, Split Whiskers, Real Rabitzkin August 18th :
(Stage 1) The Australian Pink Floyd Show, Nine Below Zero, Mindflow, Man, Bluehorses, Stray, Juicy Lucy, Big 10, The Reasoning
(Stage 2) Natasha Sohl, 25 Yard Screamer, Puck, Hedgepie, Tidy, Charlie Barker
August 19th :
(Stage 1) Thunder, Wishbone Ash, Deborah Bonham, Hazel O’Conner, Karnataka, John O’Leary Blues Band, John Otway, Nigel Graham Blues Reaction, E-Zee Band, Lost Weekend
(Stage 2) Chris Singleton, Sacred Heart, Taildragger Blues Band, Respond, Simon Hopper, After 4
A nice mix of established acts, quality cover bands and up and coming artists as well, I’m really looking forward to it. A chance to see Thunder is never to be passed up and Dr. Feelgood, Stray, Wishbone Ash….!!!!
To get me in the mood I’ll be posting the occasional video of some of the line-up over the next few weeks…
